Competition task – this years theme is…

Marketing and advertising in the world of NGOs

Why?

Marketing is hard, isn’t it?
Every single person, who tried launching their own company, product or service knows that.

Even those of us trying to make it big on LinkedIn, Instagram or Tik Tok know the difficulty of this.
The situation is no different in the NGO’s world.

Ok, so what?

Whether they reach out to the world to find funding, volunteers, certain professionals or specific people (i.e. blood donors or people open to adopting an abandoned pet), those messages come out in form of coordinated media campaigns, targeted mailing operations, or simply as social media posts.

Some of those organisations have enough operational funds to use professionals. Some of them rely solely on volunteering. Volunteers are the heart of NGO, but they come from many different lines of work with varying level of marketing knowledge.

So, this year’s Grand PMIthon theme is focused around marketing and advertising in the NGO world!

Who is it for?

Don’t worry, if you never had an opportunity to work with marketing  we want to improve this area, not necessarily create complete marketing campaigns!

Your PMIthon ideas can become reality!

Last year’s winners have proposed the idea to create an app to connect organisations in need of volunteers, with people who would like to contribute their time and effort, but don’t know how to start.

PMI PC team, together with the winning team and our partner, SwipeAPP, has created

Swipe2Help

With Swipe2Help, volunteers can sign up for a volunteering opportunity in seconds.

Simplicity, geolocation, and one-touch application make recruitment easy and enjoyable.

Swipe2Help is the answear to NGOs needs of volunteering – it’s fast, effective, and engaging.
